A LETTER FROM DR. MICHAELSON:

I feel so lucky to have found a profession that truly has given me deep personal satisfaction every day.  It has been a joy to care for so many families who have become very dear to me. With mixed feelings, I will be retiring at the end of June 2024 after 43 years of practicing pediatrics on the Main Line.

I have had the privilege of taking care of two generations of many families. It is unique to have the pleasure of watching my patients grow up, and then become parents themselves. I am also very proud of the many young men and women who were my patients and then went on to careers in the medical profession. I hope I had a positive impact on their journey.

I have been fortunate to work at Advocare Main Line Pediatrics with the best physicians and nurse practitioners anyone could wish for.  I have enjoyed working closely with our wonderful nurses and with our clerical staff.  We worked so hard together and made it through the pandemic, and continue to provide superior patient care with warmth and compassion. I will really miss working side by side with all of you.

I look forward to having more flexibility in my life, and more time with my family, especially my grandchildren. In retirement, I will continue to teach high school health, as I have for the past 24 years. I plan to devote time to writing, and will continue in my long-time job as head of evening programming for the Bala Cynwyd Library board. And I look forward to having more time to pursue my passion for singing. Look for me performing with my choir, Nashirah.

Thank you for allowing me into your lives and enriching my life every day.

I will truly miss you all.

Janet M. Michaelson, MD, FAAP
