Frequently Asked Questions

We know you've got questions, so this is the place to get those answered. Here you'll find information on office visits, schedules of well visits, and payment and insurance information. If there's anything here that needs clarity, please feel free to give our office a call!

All You Need to Know

  • Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we are currently welcoming new patients!
  • When will I receive lab or test results?

You will receive a call quickly with any lab results that require urgent attention. All other lab results will be addressed promptly by the provider that ordered the labs or tests and reported to you via phone by our nurses.
  • I just gave birth. When should I schedule my baby's first doctor visit?

We recommend that your newborn be seen in our office within 1-3 days after discharge from the hospital. You do not have to call to schedule until your child is born and the hospital discharge date is set. Our staff understands the importance of this first visit and we will always get your newborn scheduled in the recommended time frame.
  • How do we contact the doctor after hours?

Please call our main number, 610-642-9200, to be directed to our triage nurses. Our triage nurses are highly trained and experienced, and follow nationally recognized medical protocols that have been reviewed by our physicians. One of our physicians is always “on call” and available at all times to support our triage nurses. Please be aware that after-hours calls are intended for urgent medical issues that cannot wait until the next business day. Pages are typically returned within 15 minutes. Please call back if you have not received a timely response.

IN THE EVENT OF A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY, CALL 911.
  • How do I obtain a prescription refill?

You can now easily request a prescription refill using our patient portal! If there is any discrepancy in the appropriateness of a refill you will receive a call from one of our staff to discuss.

Additionally, you can call our office and follow the prompts to speak with our front desk staff who will submit the request to the ordering provider. Expect requests to be fulfilled within 48 hours.

Controlled substances which are commonly prescribed to treat ADD/ADHD require a minimum of 7 days notice. Refills will only be authorized if the patient has had a well visit within the previous 12 months.

For prescriptions that require prior authorization from your insurance company, please plan ahead to allow at least 3 - 5 days for refill approval.

Prescription refills are refilled Monday through Friday, during normal business hours (8am-5pm).
  • Do you accept my health insurance plan?

We accept most major insurance plans except Medicaid/Medicare plans. For more information, please refer to the insurance tab under office info.
  • My child needs to see a specialist. What do I do?

If it is determined your child needs to see a specialist, our office will give you the list of recommended providers within that given specialty in our area. Many insurance plans do not require a written referral to schedule an appointment. However, if you do require a written referral for a new or acute issue, you will first need to be seen in the office for a visit, and then a physical referral will be given to you.
  • What days of the week are you open?

See our "Location & Hours" tab at the top of our page with each office's hours.
  • Until what age will you provide medical care for my child?

Our patient ages range from newborn to 22 years. We request that new patients are 16 or younger.
  • Office closures and observed holidays?

Our office is closed every year for the following holidays:

    Memorial Day
    July 4th
    Labor day
    Thanksgiving Day
    Christmas Day
    New Year's Day

Dates surrounding these holidays may have abbreviated hours as well.  We try our best to update our website and our hours on the Google listing as they are approaching. You can always call our office to confirm.

In the event of an inclement weather closure, we often post these in our "News and Announcement" section at the bottom of our homepage. Or you can check our Instagram page --> @mainline_pediatrics

  • Can I meet my pediatrician before my baby is born?

Yes, in fact we strongly encourage parents-to-be to visit our office to be sure that we are the right fit for your family. We will soon be offering group prenatal appointments in the evenings once a month for new patients to get familiar with our providers and our office culture. Stay tuned!

  • May I request a specific pediatrician for my visit?

Every effort is made to arrange your child's well care and follow-up visits with the healthcare provider of your choice. If your child is coming in for a sick visit we do try to schedule them with their PCP (primary care provider) however, based on schedules and availability they may be seen by another provider in our office.
